Always going on about something…

I still pinch myself sometimes. I can’t quite believe that I have this incredible honour of speaking publicly about the vast and beautiful facets of disability and queer identities from places like IKEA to Transport Hartford to Tufts University. I can’t believe that I’ve gotten to speak on NPR and on podcasts, and that my ramblings about disabled joy and accessibility can be found published and quoted across the internet and hard copy journals.

Most of all, I’m grateful to the communities I get to work in and with, because nothing happens in a vacuum, and for the hard work of these journalists and their teams for taking the time to speak and listen to me, and for giving me a platform and an opportunity to share about things I care so much about.

Most of the work that I do in this arena is unpaid; it is work that I do because it matters deeply to me, impacts me personally, and absolutely lights my fire. That said, I would like to say that disabled folk, as much as anyone else, deserve to be paid for their work. My work should not be held up as an example of how disabled folk should work for free for causes we care about or that matter to us.

With that in mind, if you appreciate the work that I do and would like to support it and me, you can Buy Me A Coffee or become a Patron.
