Talks & Interviews
I still pinch myself sometimes. I can’t quite believe that I have this incredible honour of speaking publicly about the vast and beautiful facets of disability and queer identities from places like IKEA to Transport Hartford to Tufts University. I can’t believe that I get to speak on NPR and on podcasts, and that my ramblings about disabled joy and accessibility can be found published and quoted across the internet and hard copy journals. Here is a sampling of some of the work I’ve had the pleasure of getting to do!
Speaking Engagements
I was honoured to speak at Tufts University in November 2023 at their Best Buddies Program on Disability Activism, Politics, Government, and how no one is too small to make a difference.
I was utterly delighted to return to St. Cloud State University to speak about Disability, Sexuality, and Inclusion in July of 2023.
I spoke to Omnicom Health Group’s Disability ERG in July of 2023 for Disability Pride Month about Disabled Joy, community, diversity, and why representation matters.
I had the pleasure of speaking at IKEA US’s Disability Empowerment & Advocacy CRG during Pride Month, June 2023.
I was a panelist at St. Cloud State University’s “Empowering Youth with Disabilities: A Tribute to Judy Heumann,” April 2023.
I spoke at Transport Hartford’s 2018 Multimodal Transport Summit, regarding disability transportation and mobility concerns.
Radio & other interviews
I had the deepest honour of being interviewed on NPR’s “Where We Live” about wheelchair repair issues and what the CT Wheelchair Reform Coalition is doing about it!
podcasts
I was a repeat guest on the Complexities Podcast, speaking about complex PTSD.
